Who is behind OAK Therapy? OAK was created by Susana Riera. A Bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist residing in Miami, Florida. Susana completed a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 2014 at the University of Miami and a Masters of Science in Speech-Language Pathology in May 2019 at Nova Southeastern University.
Susana believes in providing evidence-based therapeutic interventions that are individualistically adjusted to each diverse client. She utilizes play as a powerful tool to promote learning and set the foundation in building a nurturing therapeutic relationship with my patients to achieve success. Susana has experience working with:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Social (Pragmatic) Communication Disorder
- Down Syndrome
- Cerebral Palsy
- Prader Willi Syndrome
Speech/language and feeding/swallowing diagnoses:
- Articulation delays/disorders (production of speech sounds)

- Expressive and/or receptive language delays/disorders
- Motor speech/apraxia of speech
- Pragmatic skills (social language skills)

Susana was born and raised in Venezuela🇻🇪, she had a wonderful childhood filled with adventures, rich culture, delicious arepas and a million family members surrounding her with love. She is committed to devoting time to others, she like hugs and adores telling people they are loved. She believes in making myself happy in order to make others happy. Therefore, she is always making time to enjoy myself either by indulging in delicious meals and enjoying a good sunset at the beach
She loves being a daughter, sister, friend, Speech-Language Pathologist and so much more. Some days are funny, some are exhausting. But most days are filled with sunshine, hugs, and pride, so much pride for the achievements my patients make, pride for being Venezuelan, pride for being involved in the most wonderful field with the most amazing people, pride for being a lover of love, and a lover of people of ALL ability levels
